International Nurses Day 2024 Celebration

Navodaya College of Nursing, Raichur celebrated International Nurses Day on May 9th, 2024, the B.Sc Nursing students from the 2020 batch with a focus on this year’s theme, Our Nurses. Our Future. The economic power of care.  The highlight of the event was a Fancy Dress Competition that explored the diverse scope of the nursing profession. Students participated enthusiastically, dressing up to represent various nursing roles such as paediatric nurse, emergency room nurse, operating room nurse, geriatric nurse, community health nurse, OBG nurse, Military Nurse, Mental health Nurse, Flight Nurse,Telenurse, Space Nurse and nurse educator. Each participant not only wore a costume relevant to their chosen speciality but also performed presentations to showcase the unique responsibilities and contributions of that role. This creative competition aimed to educate and inspire, providing a deeper understanding of the diverse opportunities within nursing. Ms. Poornima Bhat, Lecturer of Medical Surgical Nursing, delivered a speech unveiling the theme of the event. Prof. Hetzy Suthanakumari Principal emphasized nurses’ indispensable service contributions in meeting healthcare needs and she encouraged student nurses to embrace their roles with passion.  The event was a resounding success, reflecting the dedication and passion of future nurses and underscoring the critical role they play in healthcare.
