Importance of Anti-Ragging Awareness

Ragging is a serious offense that affects the mental and emotional well-being of students. Expert Session by Law Enforcement Officer

The resource person for the programme, Mr. Yallappa, Assistant Sub-Inspector, addressed the students and spoke in detail about the seriousness of ragging and the legal consequences associated with such acts. He highlighted relevant provisions of the anti-ragging laws and explained how even minor acts can lead to severe legal action.

Student Responsibilities and Legal Provisions

During the session, students were educated about:

  • Responsibilities of senior students

  • Rights of junior students

  • Legal mechanisms for reporting ragging incidents

  • Role of authorities in ensuring a ragging-free campus

Mr. Yallappa encouraged students to cultivate empathy, cooperation, and positive peer relationships, both in hostels and academic spaces.
