Three-Day Faculty Development Programme: “Nursing Faculty Capacity Building Programme”

A Three-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Nursing Faculty Capacity Building Programme” was conducted at Navodaya College of Nursing, Raichur, under the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The programme was conducted from September 9 to 11, 2026, at the Virtual Library of Navodaya College of Nursing. The programme aimed to strengthen the teaching, mentoring, clinical, communication, leadership and professional competencies of nursing faculty and equip them with contemporary approaches in nursing education.

The programme commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting and a prayer song followed by a welcome address. Prof. Hetzy Suthanakumari,Principal, Navodaya College of Nursing, Raichur, delivered the Presidential Address and emphasized the importance of continuous faculty development, innovation and quality enhancement in nursing education.

The first day focused on Roles and responsibilities of a Nursing teacher, student orientation-academic, clinical and professional expectations, modern teaching methodologies ,counselling and mentoring ,Effective classroom management, including, AI in nursing education, lesson-plan and PPT preparation, and organizational behavior delivered by various resource persons from Navodaya College of Nursing and Navodaya Education Trust, Raichur.

The second day began with a session on OSCE and specialty-wise practical teaching and OSCE training in various nursing specialties.

The third day included BCLS theory, demonstration and hands-on practice, followed by the post-test, feedback, and valedictory session and the programme concluded with a vote of thanks.
