Navodaya College of Nursing Organizes Seminar on Menstrual Health Awareness and Hygiene

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Navodaya College of Nursing, Raichur, in collaboration with the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Navodaya Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, successfully organized an interdisciplinary seminar on “Creating Awareness for Better Menstrual Health and Hygiene” on 29 May 2026 at the Virtual Library, Central Library.
The seminar aimed to promote awareness on menstrual hygiene, reproductive health, nutrition, mental well-being, and the importance of eliminating myths and stigma associated with menstruation.
Dr. Teja B.S., Senior Postgraduate, served as the resource person and delivered an informative session on key aspects of menstrual health and women’s wellness. Interactive sessions conducted by Dr. Harish and Dr. Roshni further enhanced participants’ understanding of women’s health, the importance of Pap smear screening, and the role of HPV vaccination in preventing cervical cancer.
A total of 122 B.Sc. Nursing students, along with M.Sc. Nursing students and Senior Postgraduates, actively participated in the seminar. The programme strengthened students’ knowledge of women’s health and reinforced the institution’s commitment to promoting preventive healthcare, health education, and professional excellence.
