Hostel

The hostels provide a decent and hygienic salubrious ambience and a feel-good climate, and are equipped with all amenities for living, dining and recreation that makes each inmate feel at home. They provide a right atmosphere for intellectual stimulation and balanced growth. There are 5 boy’s hostel and 4 girl’s hostels in the medical campus, apart from one boys hostel and one girl’s hostel in the engineering college campus, providing accommodation to over 4000 students with in the campus.

Water facility is available round-the-clock in all buildings, including hostels. Treated water is available for drinking purposes and sufficient numbers of water coolers are provided in all buildings. Rain water harvesting has been done for the entire campus. Effluent treatment plant has also been commissioned at NET to treat the waste water and the recycled water is being used for gardening purposes.

ICICI banking facilities is actively operational at NET campus with ATM facility. There are in-house canteens at NET that provide the right ambience for informal get-together and serve a variety of culinary delights. The stationary store at NET provides the students with a wide variety of stationary items, including souvenirs.

General Information

Telephone
Each hostel block is equipped with telephone connections.
Room Furnishings
Each resident is provided with a cot, wardrobe or closet, desk and chairs.
ID Cards
Each student is provided with an RFID smart card that must be carried at all times.
Food Service
NET has always believed in catering to the appetite and providing wholesome and balanced nutrition in a hygienic environment. A completely balanced diet is served for all the students, at the Food Court.. Mess can be selected by the resident according to his/her culinary taste.
Security
The Security Office is located at the main gate of the hospital and is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Each hostel is guarded by a security person who checks at the entrance.

Rules & Regulations

Behaviour and Discipline

  • Residents are expected to exhibit acceptable form of behaviour and maintain discipline and decorum in the hostel complex.
  • Smoking is not allowed in the hostel complex at any time.
  • Possession, distribution and consumption of alcoholic beverages and drugs are prohibited. Also, chewing tobacco is not allowed in the campus.
  • Parties, social or political gatherings in the hostel complex are not permitted without the prior and written consent of the accommodation officer.
  • A hostel campus should be a place where students can have the best possible conditions for studying and adequate rest. As such due consideration must be accorded to other residents at all times. Noise level must be kept low to allow others’ the opportunity to study or sleep in comfort.
  • Television, Radio etc. provided in the common room must be switched off or volume toned down after 10:00 pm.
  • In case of any unacceptable behaviour by the room-mate, the other room-mate must report to authorities

Upkeep of the Hostel

  • Residents are responsible for keeping their rooms and the common areas in the hostel such as visitor’s area, bathrooms, stair case, and common room etc. clean and tidy at all times.
  • All fans, lights and electrical appliances must be switched off when not in use.
  • Cooking, making tea etc. is not allowed in the hostel.
  • Common hostel furniture must not be moved without the permission of the warden.
  • Any damage to the hostel property must be reported immediately to the warden.
  • Residents will be charged for all damages except damages caused by normal wear and tear.
  • Pasting of posters, writings, wall chalking, slogans of any kind or defacing the hostel in any form is not allowed.
  • The hostel management reserves the right to make spot checks on the hostel and rooms without having to give prior notice to the students.
  • The hostel management reserves the right to move the residents to other hostel blocks if there is a necessity.

Security

  • Residents are required to carry their smart cards at all times in the compound of the hostel complex and produce it on demand by the hostel authorities.
  • Residents are advised to lock all doors at all times for security reasons.
  • The hostel management is not responsible for any loss of private property. Residents are strongly advised to lock all your valuable e.g. laptop, watches, money etc. at all times.
  • Any resident who finds his/her room-mate missing for more than 24 hours, must report to the warden immediately. This is to enable the hostel authorities to take immediate action if any untoward incident had taken place. Your cooperation is very much appreciated.
  • Pets are not allowed in hostels

Revision of Rules & Regulations

  • The hostel management reserves the right to revise the rules and regulations from time to time and will keep the resident informed of any changes in the form of notices on the hostel notice boards.
  • Ignorance of rules will not be accepted as an excuse.
  • These rules are intended to ensure a conducive environment for all Residents.
